Professional Accomplishments
After graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Dantio completed two 1-year internships, including a small animal medicine and surgery internship at Carolina Veterinary Specialists, followed by a neurology and neurosurgery internship at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists in Houston, Texas.
She returned to Carolina Veterinary Specialists in 2016 for a 3-year neurology and neurosurgery residency program under the mentorship of Dr. Robert Bergman and Dr. Russell Quigley.
During her residency, she authored a case report entitled “Surgical Treatment of Suspected Meningioangiomatosis in the Thoracolumbar Spinal Cord” that was accepted for publication in JAAHA. She also presented a retrospective study on a distraction-fusion technique for the surgical treatment of cervical spondylomyelopathy in canines at the Southeastern Veterinary Neurology Meeting in 2018. Dr. Dantio became a diplomate of ACVIM specialty of neurology in 2021.
